Cursor + PostlyBee

Schedule social media posts from Cursor

Add PostlyBee to Cursor’s mcp.json and ask the Agent to turn your docs, README, or latest feature into social posts. It schedules them to your channels without you leaving the editor.

  • A few lines of mcp.json, then a PostlyBee sign-in with OAuth
  • Mention files with @ and ask for a post about them
  • Cursor asks before it runs a PostlyBee tool, and you can see every parameter

$0 charged today, cancel anytime. MCP is included in every paid plan.

How do I add PostlyBee to Cursor?

Cursor reads MCP servers from mcp.json. Use the global file to have PostlyBee in every project, or a project file to share it with your team.

  1. 1

    Connect your social channels

    Start your 7-day free trial and connect the accounts Cursor should post to, such as X, LinkedIn, or YouTube.

  2. 2

    Add PostlyBee to mcp.json

    Paste the server block, then sign in to PostlyBee when Cursor asks and approve a workspace.

  3. 3

    Ask the Agent to post

    Mention a file or describe the post. Cursor shows each PostlyBee tool call for approval before it runs.

MCP server URL

https://api.postlybee.com/mcp

Best for your own editor. Cursor discovers PostlyBee’s sign-in from the URL, so there is no token to store.

  1. 1Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or create it.
  2. 2Add the block below and save the file.
  3. 3Open Cursor’s MCP settings, sign in to PostlyBee when prompted, and approve a workspace.
  4. 4Ask the Agent to list your PostlyBee channels.

  "mcpServers": {
    "postlybee": {
      "url": "https://api.postlybee.com/mcp"
    }
  }

Connection options

Global or project setup?

Both use the same PostlyBee tools. The difference is where the setup lives and who shares it.

  • Global ~/.cursor/mcp.json

    Best for: your own projects and side work

    Add PostlyBee once with an OAuth sign-in and it is available in every project you open.

  • Project .cursor/mcp.json

    Best for: teams that post about a shared product

    Commit the file so the whole team gets PostlyBee, while tokens stay in each person’s environment.

Capabilities

What can Cursor do with PostlyBee?

Cursor’s Agent already has your project in context. PostlyBee lets it turn that context into scheduled posts.

  • Write from your files

    Mention a README, doc, or changelog with @ and ask for a post, a thread, or an article based on it.

  • Schedule to every channel

    Schedule to one channel or several, each with its own copy and settings, or save drafts for review.

  • Handle platform settings

    The Agent loads each channel’s options, such as a YouTube title and visibility, before it schedules.

  • Attach media

    Import an image or MP4 from a public URL into your PostlyBee media library and attach it to a post.

  • Fill open slots

    Find the next free slots in your posting schedule so new posts do not collide with planned ones.

  • See how posts did

    Read account and post analytics in the same chat where you wrote the post.

How to post from Cursor’s Agent

Cursor uses the tools listed under Available Tools when they fit your request, including in Plan mode. You can name a PostlyBee tool directly or just describe the post you want.

By default, Cursor asks for approval before it runs an MCP tool. Expand the tool call to check the channels, text, and time before PostlyBee schedules anything.

Use @ to add context

Point the Agent at the exact file the post should come from, so it does not guess.

Review every call

Each PostlyBee tool call shows its parameters, so you see exactly what will be scheduled.

Turn it off per project

Enable or disable the PostlyBee server from Cursor’s settings without deleting its config.

Pricing and security

How much does it cost?

MCP access is included in every paid PostlyBee plan, starting from $9.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial.

How is access secured?

OAuth sign-ins and API tokens are scoped to one workspace. In a shared project, keep tokens in environment variables, never in the committed mcp.json.

Something not working?

Check Cursor’s MCP settings for the server status and sign in again if asked. If only read tools appear, reconnect with write access.
