How do I connect PostlyBee to ChatGPT?

ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers through Developer mode on the web. Turn it on once, then add PostlyBee as an app.

    Connect your social channels

    Start your 7-day free trial and connect the accounts ChatGPT should manage, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, or X.

    Add PostlyBee as a Developer mode app

    Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT, create an app with the URL above, and sign in to PostlyBee to approve a workspace.

    Ask ChatGPT to post for you

    Pick PostlyBee from Developer mode in a chat and describe the post. Approve the scheduling step when ChatGPT asks.

Use these steps on chatgpt.com. Developer mode is available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.

  1. 1Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. 2Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select the plus button, and create an app.
  3. 3Name it PostlyBee, paste https://api.postlybee.com/mcp, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  4. 4Sign in to PostlyBee, choose the workspace, and approve access.
  5. 5In a new chat, open the plus menu, choose Developer mode, and select PostlyBee.

The app appears under Drafts in your app settings. If PostlyBee adds new tools later, open the app’s details page and refresh it.

Approvals

You approve every post before it is scheduled

ChatGPT treats any tool that changes data as a write action and asks you to confirm it. PostlyBee marks its read-only tools, such as listing channels or reading analytics, so those run without interrupting you.

Before you approve, you can expand the tool call to see exactly which channels, text, media, and time ChatGPT is about to send to PostlyBee.

Reads run freely

Listing channels, loading platform rules, finding slots, and reading analytics never change your workspace.

Writes need your approval

Scheduling a post, saving a draft, updating post settings, uploading media, and generating images or video all ask first.

No deletions

Deleting posts is not available through PostlyBee’s MCP server, so a chat cannot remove your scheduled or published posts.

ChatGPT or Codex?

Is ChatGPT the same as Codex?

No. ChatGPT is OpenAI’s chat app, and this guide connects PostlyBee to it through Developer mode. Codex is OpenAI’s coding agent, which runs in your terminal, editor, and the cloud, and has its own MCP settings.

Both can use the same PostlyBee MCP server. Use ChatGPT for planning and writing posts in a conversation; use Codex when you want posts to come out of your code and release workflow.

How much does it cost?

MCP access is included in every paid PostlyBee plan, starting from $9.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan.

How is access secured?

ChatGPT signs in with OAuth and only gets the workspace and access you approve. It never sees your social media passwords.

Something not working?

If you cannot create the app, check that Developer mode is on. If PostlyBee is not used in a chat, select it from Developer mode in the plus menu.
